Christian Service Hours
At Calvary Christian School, it is a graduation requirement for each student to complete 5 hours of Christian service per quarter, for a total of 20 hours of service per year, in 6th-8th grades. Each quarter, a different area of service must be reflected. Our goal is to expose your students to different ways to serve Christ in their church and community.
Some examples of service are:
Babysitting (immediate family excluded)
Sunday school class
Visitation to Care House or another care facility
Light-the-Night (Calvary) set-up and booth work
Care and Concern Day at Calvary Church
Speech Meet teen helper
Operation Christmas Child
Helping a teacher before or after school
Helping the librarian
All service is to be unpaid and freely given to those outside the student's immediate family (i.e. service to family is expected, but not considered as service hours).
