Elementary students at Calvary Christian School get one hour of art history/studio art biweekly.  They learn about fine art, art movements, famous artists, and art techniques.  The hands-on studio portion incorporates a wide range of media, including, drawing, painting, sculpture, and collage.  Students are encouraged to be creative in the art making process.

In 4th through 6th grades, students have an additional fine arts option, which includes visual arts. This is an additional hour in which we focus on our God given talents, and development of the whole child.  The visual arts portion focuses on drawing skills.  Students keep a sketchbook and focus on the elements of art while using a variety of media.

Junior High students have an elective option that includes visual arts.  At this level, we study the elements of art and principles of design.  Students keep a sketch book and portfolio.  They hone their skills in drawing, painting, mixed media, collage, sculpture and fibers.

Junior High students also have an elective option of yearbook.  The yearbook is a yearlong class, culminating in the school annual which is given to every student and the end of the year.  Students in yearbook learn page layout, design, photo editing and typography.  Computer programs incorporated in yearbook include Photoshop Elements and Foto Fusion.
